Kavana is looking for a Backend Engineer with strong fundamentals and a passion for building scalable systems. You'll work directly with the founders,  experienced engineers and product teams to deliver real-time, AI-driven conversational experiences. This is a high-growth opportunity at the intersection of chat, AI, and consumer tech.

Responsibilities:

• Build reliable backend features that support real-time, AI-powered user interactions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver and iterate on product features
• Ensure code quality through testing, documentation, and code reviews
• Monitor and maintain backend services across staging and production environments
• Contribute to overall system performance, uptime, and user experience

Requirements:

• Experience in designing and developing scalable APIs (RESTful)
• Proficiency in Python and JavaScript, with hands-on experience in Django and Node.js
• Strong understanding of WebSockets for real-time communication
• Exposure to AI/LLM-based systems and cloud platforms like AWS or GCP
• Experience with third-party API integrations and solid grasp of system design and backend architecture
• Have deeply integrated AI into how you work
